Olivet-Nazarene-University

Our schools put great emphasis on multiplying single-digit numbers (for example 8 x 7, 6 x 9,and so forth), and for many children Olivet-Nazarene-University, their success or failure at maths hinges on doing well in this rudimentary area. The general theory amongst most teachers and parents is that the only way to get good at multiplying is to memorise the tables.

There is a major problem with that theory, though. No one ever teaches our kids how to memorise! People just assume that every child will memorise by just looking at the tables or by repeating them over and over again. OK, this works for some kids, but for the rest it is a real struggle.

Time Table Rhyme, either the printed flash cards or eBook, can help you and your child achieve greater success learning and remembering the multiplication times tables with minimum effort, and is ideally suited for grade one to grade six primary-school-age children as reported by Olivet-Nazarene-University.

Time Table Rhyme is based on 12 fun characters who get into all sorts of situations; colourful illustrations combined with a short story create a number image in your child's imagination. To a child, the maths multiplication tables have an abstract nature; they're a group of symbols with little meaning or purpose, boring and difficult to remember from one lesson to the next, or to memorise over a long period of time.

Our learning card system uses proven visual and auditory memory hooks based on an age-old technique called mnemonics that will help your child learn quickly and recall at RANDOM. The number image contains the answer. When the two characters meet, whatever they are doing rhymes with the answer - for example, "Dirty Tricks - 36"

Testimonial One

I just bought my third Time Table Rhyme cards…one for each of my grandchildren. There is nothing more important than our children learning Maths. Congratulations on a great product that creates interest in young children to learn which in turn develops great self-esteem.

Testimonial Two

It is much simpler to teach than many others. It requires no special training. It easily covers the main concepts of maths. Many children will not need a more formal program beyond this. The program is nicely packaged and presented. It makes reading instruction easy for homeschooling moms, and also works in remedial situations."

Testimonial Three

Testimonial:- My Daughter loved them! She wanted to see them all at once but following your recommendation I limited it to a couple a day, which was necessary. Having an imaginative mind they appealed to her immensely and they have actually made her enjoy what was becoming a real chore. ( Mrs. Tritton Bromley Kent).

The great thing about a multi-sensory approach to learning, is that each pupil will be receptive to at least one source of information. For example the story, the picture, the punch line although most people are receptive to both visual and auditory media. This system is also ideal for children who have a specific learning difficulty such Dyslexia as the multi-sensory teaching brings out the best in these gifted children. But this system is not just about your child.
Are you able to make time for just 5 or 10 minutes of "paired" reading a day? Reading the flash cards to your child with a colourful voice while looking at the pictures will help your child to learn and remember the multiplication tables FAST ! For effective memory it is necessary to have a system for linking bits of information. Memory Hooks

  • Select and Organize Internet Information for Better Retrieval and Use
The Internet can be a useful information source for the experienced and discriminating user; however, there exist many dangers for students wanting to do research on the World Wide Web. The number one danger in the minds of most teachers, librarians, and other information professionals is the validity of the information retrieved via search engines. How factual, unbiased, and current is the information found through the result of any particular search?

  • The Shopping List, An Educational Tools Purchasing Guide for Parents and Students
Macro-Organization, as you will recall from the previous chapter, involves the techniques necessary to maintain grade records and paperwork, meet assignment and tests dates, and organize study time efficiently. In order to accomplish this often oppressive task, you must have the right equipment. I am happy to tell you that you need not purchase elaborate or expensive file cabinets and calendar books in order to have an absolutely superb Macro-Organizational system; nor do you need to invest in any of the rather costly pocket-sized electronic organizers or mini-computer systems.

While the debate about whether technology helps or harms students continues, parents and teachers must understand the potential benefits of using technology in the classroom.

  • What It Takes to Work in CAD
The most successful people working in computer-aided drafting (CAD) have both formal training in the field and good "soft skills" that make them ideally suited to this kind of work. CAD training develops the skills necessary to produce precise technical drawings using computers. Computer-aided drafting and design is used to build almost everything from animation story boards to battleships.

  • Diplomacy - The Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Ancients
The great wisdom of these three Eastern cultures, China, India, and Persia, illustrates that they were actually a lot more advanced than their western counterparts were. Rather than opting for wars and strife they strove to create peace through diplomacy- the most ancient form of ADR.
