Gutenberg-College-Eugene-Private

Our schools put great emphasis on multiplying single-digit numbers (for example 8 x 7, 6 x 9,and so forth), and for many children Gutenberg-College-Eugene-Private, their success or failure at maths hinges on doing well in this rudimentary area. The general theory amongst most teachers and parents is that the only way to get good at multiplying is to memorise the tables.

There is a major problem with that theory, though. No one ever teaches our kids how to memorise! People just assume that every child will memorise by just looking at the tables or by repeating them over and over again. OK, this works for some kids, but for the rest it is a real struggle.

Time Table Rhyme, either the printed flash cards or eBook, can help you and your child achieve greater success learning and remembering the multiplication times tables with minimum effort, and is ideally suited for grade one to grade six primary-school-age children as reported by Gutenberg-College-Eugene-Private.

Time Table Rhyme is based on 12 fun characters who get into all sorts of situations; colourful illustrations combined with a short story create a number image in your child's imagination. To a child, the maths multiplication tables have an abstract nature; they're a group of symbols with little meaning or purpose, boring and difficult to remember from one lesson to the next, or to memorise over a long period of time.

Our learning card system uses proven visual and auditory memory hooks based on an age-old technique called mnemonics that will help your child learn quickly and recall at RANDOM. The number image contains the answer. When the two characters meet, whatever they are doing rhymes with the answer - for example, "Dirty Tricks - 36"

Testimonial One

I must admit I was pretty skeptical in the beginning, but as I worked with the students, it made a difference. They were able to identify the numbers and the sound and were able to go forward. It really is quite amazing.

Testimonial Two

A groan always goes up, not only from children but parents as well, when 'multiplication tables' are mentioned. Dyslexics always seem to have such problems with them being unable to cope with their abstract nature. Now a local mother has come up with a fun answer. Through great experience and experiments with her own dyslexic children, she has very professionally produced 'Time Table Rhyme'. These large beautifully illustrated flash cards with twelve different characters who get into all sorts of situations that rhyme with the answer. Do have a look at them if you can. We will have them on show at our meetings. ( Reprinted from UK Dyslexia Association News letter. )

I personally feel that this approach is one of the best approaches to Maths that has been invented. I feel we need to incorporate it as much as possible into every program that we have in the schools.

Dear Jane I would like to thank you and let you know how impressed I am with the Time Rhyme cards. Firstly, I ordered them on Thursday and they arrived at my door (in Australia!) on Monday! Secondly, my son who is 10 and has had loads of trouble with maths and times tables is thrilled and enthusiastic about the cards and is already halfway through the 4X. Thanks again from a very happy customer, Kate

I want to give you extremely positive feedback on the Time Table Rhyme. I have to tell you it has been amazing. Every day our daughter is getting more confident in maths and also reading. Her primary aide found it very easy to use and it overcame any organizational obstacles. Now she has a maths tutor who is equally impressed.

  • Numeracy: Easing Mathematics for Kids
Children, when taught with fun and games, find things easy to learn. They take interest in learning, if it is complemented with entertainment. If there arrives something boring, it allows them to wander their minds. The idea of 'play and learn' allows a rapid brain development at an early age. 5-10 years of age is one, when a kid can grasp a lot of things which he finds attractive and interesting and store in his memory. So it is this time that should be utilized mostly in making them learn continuously.
