Aberystwyth-University

Our schools put great emphasis on multiplying single-digit numbers (for example 8 x 7, 6 x 9,and so forth), and for many children Aberystwyth-University, their success or failure at maths hinges on doing well in this rudimentary area. The general theory amongst most teachers and parents is that the only way to get good at multiplying is to memorise the tables.

There is a major problem with that theory, though. No one ever teaches our kids how to memorise! People just assume that every child will memorise by just looking at the tables or by repeating them over and over again. OK, this works for some kids, but for the rest it is a real struggle.

Time Table Rhyme, either the printed flash cards or eBook, can help you and your child achieve greater success learning and remembering the multiplication times tables with minimum effort, and is ideally suited for grade one to grade six primary-school-age children as reported by Aberystwyth-University.

Time Table Rhyme is based on 12 fun characters who get into all sorts of situations; colourful illustrations combined with a short story create a number image in your child's imagination. To a child, the maths multiplication tables have an abstract nature; they're a group of symbols with little meaning or purpose, boring and difficult to remember from one lesson to the next, or to memorise over a long period of time.

Our learning card system uses proven visual and auditory memory hooks based on an age-old technique called mnemonics that will help your child learn quickly and recall at RANDOM. The number image contains the answer. When the two characters meet, whatever they are doing rhymes with the answer - for example, "Dirty Tricks - 36"

Testimonial Two

Picture this… Time Table Rhyme is based on eleven fun characters representing numbers 2 to 12. For example "Nun 9" represents the number "9", "Nurse Trixie 6" represents number "6" and "Mr. Hive 5 the Bee Keeper" represents the number "5" and so on.
The multiplication sum is remembered by combining a picture with the rhyme, for example:- Sally 7 the Sports Star is showing PC Ernie 8 her judo, she has learnt some new "swifty kicks". 7 x 8 = 56 Swifty kicks.

Testimonial Four

Greetings! Wowee wow wow! We received our cards about two weeks ago and I am simply flabbergasted! My six year old daughter absolutely loves these cards and has quickly and easily mastered the 2 & 3 times tables. It is hard to go slowly, as suggested, but the method works! We love our cards and practice when running errands in the car or while drifting off to sleep. Thomasin loves it that she knows more than I do! What a great learning tool - we can't wait to introduce them into her first grade class in September! Thank you so much!!!! (M. MacCallum)

Testimonial Five

Our sons were having problems with maths. We tutored them with the Time Table Rhyme. The Time Table Rhyme has helped them both through their frustrations. They both now memorise their times tables, having learned using the Time Table Rhyme method. This means when you can do simple maths, you can learn anything! The Time Table Rhyme really works. They are both doing very well in school. It is great having something that really works. Thanks!

  • Learning Through Numeracy Resources
Math has always been a subject of confusion and interest to people. • Numeracy: Easing Mathematics for Kids
Children, when taught with fun and games, find things easy to learn. They take interest in learning, if it is complemented with entertainment. If there arrives something boring, it allows them to wander their minds. The idea of 'play and learn' allows a rapid brain development at an early age. 5-10 years of age is one, when a kid can grasp a lot of things which he finds attractive and interesting and store in his memory. So it is this time that should be utilized mostly in making them learn continuously.
